Sergio Garcia has opened up a significant lead going into the final day at the Castello Masters held at Club de Campo del Mediterraneo in Castellon, Spain.

His third round of 64 got him to 19 under, eight shots clear of Thongchai Jaidee who managed to reach 11 under.

The Spaniard carded an impressive 63 in round two, with many questioning his ability to maintain his form throughout the weekend to take the title.

It's been three years since his last win on tour and he moved one step closer after some calm, confident and incisive play in the penultimate round.

His round didn't start perfectly but from the 6th hole onwards he began to show signs that he was ready to take the bull by the horns.

"I didn't start off the round that well and made an early bogey but I sank a great putt on the seventh and that gave me a lot of confidence."

"There's a lot to play for tomorrow. But it only needs a bad start again and for somebody to play like I have over the last two days and it could become tight."

"It's going to be a tough day tomorrow, I'm going to have to be very focused as everyone is going to be trying to attack me, I need to realise that and do what I have to do" Garcia said after finishing his round.

Just behind Garcia and Jaidee, there is a strong British contingent at the top of the leaderboard. England's Ross McGowan is a shot behind at 10 under and Anthony Wall shares fifth place with Scotsman Richie Ramsay at nine under.
