With Footjoy losing it's dominance of the golf shoe market, many secondary golfing apparel manufacturers have been making real gains. So I decided to try the Adidas AdiPure Nuovo Golf Shoes.
After looking up and down the shoe rack at the Leaderboard Golf Centre
I was immediately drawn to the contemporary yet subtle looks of the Adidas AdiPure Nuovos. I have become a little bored of wearing the same traditional styles of golf shoe that you see traipsing around clubhouses all over the world and decided to go for something a little more distinctive.
The AdiPure Nuovos look great in white or black but for obvious cleaning purposes I decided black would be the more practical option. They have a branded, yet subtle, grey Adidas three stripe which runs along the side with a small amount of bold white detailing.
The shoes feel great as soon as you put them on and don't have that usual feel of 'it fits but needs to be broken in'. The FitFOAM sole inlay cushions the foot from heel to toe and is complemented by a mono tongue which grips and supports the foot for both comfort and balance.
Balance seems to be the real theme running through these shoes, particularly on the underside. Adidas' THINtech technology creates a low profile shoe that allows you to get closer to the turf for better footwork, balance, and power transfer. The Adidas Powerband Chassis also replaces the previous two piece construction for a uniform feel and comfort, supporting your arches, heel, and toe, throughout the shoe.
The specially designed TRAXION cleat system further improves grip and balance with a specially orientated cleat system which is surrounded by the permanent secondary 'lugs' that flank the cleats on the outside of the shoe for extra stability. This is the first shoe I've tried with this type of setup and it seems to do the trick.
Finally, this shoe's CLIMAPROOF technology means it is not just 100% waterproof but also draws moisture out of the shoe to keep you completely dry on the inside, rain or shine. However, Adidas only guarantees the AdiPure Nuovo's for one year, unlike some other manufacturers where you usually get two years coverage.
This shouldn't be a problem though as the AdiPure Nuovo's are made of the finest hand finished leather and have added protection at the toe and heel where you need it most. Boasting such great looks with premium balance and comfort technology, the Adidas AdiPure Nuovos are definitely worth a try if you are looking for something a little bit special.
