Review: Ian Poulter Design Golf 365 V Neck Sweater

Written by  James Davis on Friday, 10 June 2011
When it comes to deciding what to wear on the golf course Ian Poulter is probably not the first person you would choose to dress you. But, surprisingly, the golfer's clothing range is designed for function and form over garishness. We review the Ian Poulter Design Golf 365 V Neck sweater.

Take the spikey-haired, stereotypical image of Poulter and put that aside for a minute. Whatever your view of Poulter's renowned fashion, one thing is clear: The golfer spends a lot of time and thought deciding what he wears to play a round of golf. Regardless of colour, the clothing is specifically designed to provide comfort while offering moveability.

Available in black, mist (light grey) or sky (white with a light blue tinge), these Ian Poulter Design sweaters fit extremely well. Worn over a polo shirt they are snug while still enabling you to swing a club freely.

Made from 100% finest pima cotton they are warm too and just perfect for a round of golf early in the morning or later in the afternoon during a typical June and on colder days of July.

The classic V neck design ensures that you will not feel restriction around your shoulders and neck as you take your full back swing on drives or longer irons shots. The cuffs are rib knitted to keep them tight to your wrists and the sleeves fitted so they are not too baggy around the underarm. Rib knitting has also been applied to the hem and the length is good so that the sweater fits tight just below your belt line.

The fitting is just perfect so as to allow full movement for someone of an average build, however those carrying a little more weight may find them tight.

Despite its warmth the Ian Poulter Design 365 V Neck sweater is also very lightweight, and this combined with the comfortable cut, ensures that you will soon forget you are wearing a sweater.

A logo, on the left side breast plate, is also rather understated too. The branding carries the initials IJP in a very slightly darker shade than the sweater itself.

The Ian Poulter Design Golf 365 V Neck sweater is warm for its weight, the design is traditional and timeless, and the colours on offer muted; not what you would expect from the golfer. It will make a great addition to any golfer's wardrobe. They are however pure cotton, and as such are not particularly breathable if you are to use one for any length of time under a waterproof.

What the Web is Saying

Lightweight, durable and comfy, this Ian Poulter 365 V Neck Golf Sweater will have you leading the style field on your golf course." - americangolf.co.uk
