Video Review: Titleist MB Forged Iron

Written by  Graham Green on Friday, 30 December 2011

Graham Green, PGA professional at the the Leaderboard Golf Centre in Reading, reviews the Titlelist MB Forged Iron.

Before I start, all I can say is - wow! This golf club is as sexy as it gets.

It's a traditional forged blade. It gives a solid feel, contemporary looks, and it's really advanced for shot making.

This MB iron features the traditional muscle back design, with a really nice short blade length. It's got quite minimal progressive offset, which good players always want in a bladed golf club, and that helps to increase the shot trajectory, and the shot shaping control that good players will get.

Titleist have also produced this now with a much narrower sole, which is a trailing edge relief system, and all I can say is that the MB really is probably the golden choice for all players seeking that bladed look, and for those particularly with this narrower sole who pick the ball up nice and clean off the turf.

Now I'm going to hit a few shots. It's not going to be for everyone, it isn't the easiest club in the world, but by jove - when you really get it out of the middle it is fantastic.

I love it - that's all I can say. So, for the low single figures, pros, possibly edging into higher single figure and low teens players: if you are into bladed golf clubs and like the traditional look, you're going to love this one. It's a winner.

So why not come down to the Leaderboard Golf Centre in Reading and get fitted with the Titleist MB forged iron?
