The Tour proven white finish of the Ghost putters, developed in cooperation with TaylorMade teaching professional and putting guru Dave Stockton, are designed to eliminate glare and "hot spots" on the crown, while contrasting sharply with the turf to make aiming easier.
Ghost Manta Putter
Similar to its Ghost Spider predecessor, the new Ghost Manta provides the performance benefits of a high-MOI (moment of inertia) putter, but is packaged neatly in a more traditional one-piece neo-mallet shape.
An update to its Ghost predecessors, the Ghost Manta features a new flat matte white finish intended to help golfers align themselves to the putt more easily. Its wide-bodied frame features two black rails on the top of the putter head that frame the golf ball and contrast with the white top to help improve alignment and visibility. The Ghost Manta's weighting system has been designed to improve forgiveness, while the new double-bend shaft provides the correct amount of offset without the shaft distracting from the putt.
Ghost Tour Putter Series
Consisting of three mallets and three blades, the shapes of these putters have been refined with input from PGA Tour players, and each model was engineered with four degrees of loft under the advisement of Dave Stockton.
"I encourage all golfers to find a putter with the proper loft and an insert that gets the ball rolling quickly toward the hole. The Ghost Tour Series fits the bill and is incredibly easy to aim with the white finish" said Stockton.
Also new to the 2012 line is the incorporation of adjustable sole weights (except Ghost Tour Corza) which allows the golfer to add or remove weight to customise feel. Finally, each Ghost Tour putter is equipped with a titanium-alloy PURE ROLL insert for a better feel and to promote a smooth and accurate roll.
White Smoke Putter Series
The White Smoke Series consists of three classic shapes, each with three black alignment lines on top to reinforce the player's ability to easily detect when the putter face is square to the target line, so promoting more accurate putts. The White Smoke Series also features TaylorMade's PURE ROLL face insert.
Cheaper than the Ghost Manta Putter and Ghost Tour Putter Series, the White Smoke Series offers those on a budget "the opportunity to play a white TaylorMade putter with our PURE ROLL insert technology," said Michael Fox, TaylorMade global Product Line Manager, putters and wedges.
TaylorMade's new line of Ghost putters will be available to buy from March 25th 2012 with the White Smoke Series retailing at £95 (€119), the Ghost Tour Putter Series at £129 (€159), and the Ghost Manta Putter at £149 (€179) for standard-length heel and centre-shaft versions, and £179 (€199) for belly and long putters.
