Having not played since 2002, Woods will be looking to replicate his victory in 2000, when he came back from a five-shot deficit to edge out Matt Gogel in the final round, and win his sixth consecutive PGA Tour victory.
"I'm excited to start my PGA Tour season at the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am," Woods announced on his website.
"AT&T is a great partner to my Foundation, and I'm looking forward to playing in this event. I haven't been to this tournament lately, but I have a lot of good memories at Pebble. It will be fun going back.
"It's always been one of my favourite spots."
In total, Woods has played the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am six times. On his debut in 1997 he finished second, and has been placed 13th or better on two other occasions in addition to his 2000 victory.
Woods’s first tournament of the year is the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship on Jan. 26.
