With high winds bringing the third day's play to a premature end, Wilson was back on the course early on Sunday morning and concluded his final round, on the Palmer Private course, after sunset.
Struggling at one through ten, Wilson found his form after the turn, notching four birdies that enabled him to steer clear of playing partner Robert Garrigus, who completed a brilliant third round of 61 earlier in the day.
"Robert and I, going back and forth, we really enjoyed that," said Wilson. "It just came down to 18."
Garrigus had an eagle putt on the last that would have given the lead, but a reprieved Wilson put the result beyond doubt when he holed a birdie from ten foot.
It is Wilson's fifth PGA title, and confirms his reputation as one of the Tour's fast starters. Early in 2011 the 38-year-old claimed the Waste Management Phoenix Open and the Sony Open in Hawaii.
2012's Sony Open champion, Johnson Wagner shot a seven-under round of 65 to end tied for second with Garrigus, who could only par the 18th, and John Mallinger.
