It has been a busy year for Ben Phillips, 28, and his brother Sam, 30, the founders of Golf Days UK which the pair set up back in September 2010. The Norwich-based business however, is not just another golfing-holiday company. Specialising in golf breaks and golf days they take the very best venues and courses and put the icing on top. For the past five years Ben has run his own small but successful driving school business, and with his latest venture he speaks to Leaderboard about his how he has swapped driving cars to driving golf balls.

On 20th September 2010 David undertook a challenge. It was to take up a game which had long interested him, but one he had never played. It was of course golf. He decided to dedicate one year of his life to becoming as good at golf as he could be, with the target of playing to scratch standard. Karl Steptoe is a sport psychology consultant, director of a mind to perform Ltd, Golf Mental Ltd and a PGA Advanced Professional. His experiences as a player and coach ignited a fascination with the psychological demands of the game which lead to a BSc (hons) in Psychology, an MSc in the Psychology of Sport & Exercise (Loughborough University) and continued research into performance under pressure, motivation and mental toughness for his PhD.
