A gripe we had with earlier stand bags was that you had to carefully and slowly set the bag down to ensure is stayed upright. Cobra's X-Flex system has removed that inconvenience. We were very happy with how quickly the legs deployed and the excellent stability they gave the bag and we very quickly took the bag's ability to stay upright on an incline for granted.
The bag comes with plenty of user-friendly features. This is quite a luxurious option. The elliptical top is split into eight compartments, lined with velour, and our clubs were transported round the course with a minimum of clanking and clunking, which, considering they are a good quality set, was reassuring. This is helped by the bag's solid build.
There is also a velour-lined, water resistant compartment that is ideal for transporting your valuables. We gave the area a fair old drenching and the Leaderboard phone emerged dry.
There are four other pockets. A full-length one up the side provides plenty of room for the waterproofs or an extra layer and the accessories pocket does what it says on the tin. The insulated drinks pocket that kept our water cool throughout the round is a very nice touch and in keeping with the high-end feel, as was the magnetic ball pocket.
The DB-11 is probably a little larger than we would like, but it is altogether more portable than it first looks. The Teflon-coated Izzo double straps are very easy to get on and off and they come with three balance selection rings, so you can find a solution that suits your build. We got the bag round easily and were swinging as energetically on the last few holes as we were to begin with. Getting it into and out of the car was easy too, thanks to a sturdy handle along the body of the bag.
All in all we really like this bag and felt that it came with a couple of very classy features. The quality of build and functionality is what you would expect from the Cobra brand. But just like Cobra's clubs, the DB-11 is hardly blessed with classic looks. Yes, beauty is in the eye of the beholder but the white, yellow and black combination is garish and will pick up stains over time.
What The Web is Saying
"I like the colour of the bag but I was worried about using it in wet and muddy conditions but the material around the bottom of the bag is easily cleaned and the dirt just wiped off." - direct-golf.co.uk
"The bag offers plenty of storge space at a low weight. My shoes (size 10.5 UK) or my jacket + sweater + other little things can be stowed in one side pocket. The bag also offers one magnetic pocket." - golf247.co.uk
