Review: Nike Golf Dura Sport Shoes

Choosing the right footwear for any outdoor activity is important and golf is no exception. Because you're on your feet all day, outside no less, a good pair of golf shoes should be both comfortable and durable against the elements. We review the Nike Golf Dura Sport Shoe here.

The Nike Golf Dura Sport Shoe has a stylishly minimalist appearance that also looks appealingly chunky, making it look comfortable but not cumbersome. It has been designed with a full length midsole made from lightweight Phylon, providing a firm but accommodating insole for maximum comfort.

The shoe comes at a very reasonable price, making it a good alternative if you are shopping on a budget. They do feel good to wear and the sole is responsive to the shape of the foot, although one minor criticism is that it can feel slightly loose. With this in mind, it is probably better suited to the more casual player.

The upper has been made from water-resistant synthetic leather to help protect your feet from moisture when playing in wetter conditions. Unfortunately this is where the shoe's flaws are evident. Although they work to an extent, they are not completely waterproof and moisture can seep in around the laces fairly easily. This is only a minor complaint however, as they do offer a satisfying amount of protection. keep in mind that they are shoes, not wellies.

One of the things the shoes do best is provide a solid grip, even in wet conditions. Look at the sole and you'll see the shoes come with Scorpion Stinger Spikes, which are attached to the shoe with a Q-Lok system. These cleats stay firmly in place and give you a firm grip on the ground so you won't have to worry about slipping. The shoes also allow a healthy amount of traction thanks to Nike's power platform flex, granting you a good range of movement to help you perfect the style of your swing.

Nike Golf Dura Sport Shoes have been designed with the intention of helping improve your game in comfort, and for the most part they deliver. There is definitely room for improvement as far as water-resistance is concerned and a more customisable fit would be welcome but these are minor complaints.

Overall, the shoe is suitably comfortable and offers the grip and manoeuvrability required to play effectively. More competitive players may wish to look for something more advanced but for the casual player, this is good value for money and a great addition to their wardrobe.
