Benross Golf has produced something really special with their Pure Red putters. Not only do they look classic, sleek and distinctive but they pack a host of modern features and technologies to have you putting straight every time.
There are eight models in the Benross Pure Red range: Augusta, Bandon, Bethpage, Doral, Kapalua, Merion, Oakland and Pinehurst, all including integrated alignment aids but differing in shape and design. This means that you're completely spoilt for choice if you're considering a Pure Red, and we're sure that you'll be able to find the perfect putter for your style of play.
For the money (these putters are significantly cheaper than many others on the market), the performance is really impressive. Of course, the beautiful aesthetics made for a great first impression, but taking it out on the green allowed them to speak for themselves.
The alignment aids do their job brilliantly, making lining up each shot a cinch. Accuracy is never a problem, and putting became more consistent thanks to the really clear, bold aids on the club.
The soft milled aluminium insert in the face of each putter has the distinctive V shaped grooves, which are designed to propel the ball further with top spin. This translates to having much more power in your putts than you might expect, although never at the expense of control.
The feel and response from the putter upon impact and pleasant crisp strike counterbalance the additional power perfectly. Consequently, shorter putts that are typically tricky to gauge correctly are a breeze with a Benross Pure Red.
Overall this is a pleasantly reassuring range of putter. The looks, the alignment aid and the V shaped grooves all combine to lend consistency and accuracy to each putt, helping to ensure a perfectly straight line each time and with just the right amount of power.
Our only complaint - if you can call it that - is that these putters aren't as heavy as some others we have tried recently. If you are use to weightier models then you may want to take some time on the practice green to account for any differences. Certainly, at this price, who's complaining?
