Video Review: Ping Tour S Wedges

Written by  Graham Green on Monday, 11 April 2011

Ping has been making wedges for over 25 years now and they’ve always been very popular out on the tour. Used by many tour players, they give you great versatility around the greens.

The brush chrome head is made from a 17-4 stainless steel and at the back there’s the rustique gold finish which is made from an 86-20 steel. This is a softer steel that will give you a more delicate touch and will actually rust in time because it is quite a raw material.

Ping offer lofts right the way through from a relatively-closed 47 degrees to a particularly-open 64 degrees, within those loft variations you can get different bounces from eight degrees to 12 degrees so for anyone who wants a good bunker club or a lob club for any type of shot around the green, you can finely tune exactly the right one for you.

With Ping's background in custom fitting you can have whatever option you want.

What The Web is Saying

"Rust is a good thing on these Ping Tour-S wedges.  They look great, offer a non-glare finish and spin the ball very nicely.  For cast wedges they even felt pretty good." - independentgolfreviews.com

"Overall, the Ping Tour-S wedges are great set of wedges that provide excellent feel, shot making ability, and distance control. Even, if you don’t have the skills of Louis Oosthuizen, you can at least increase your percentages of hitting the greens in regulation." - sandbox8.com
