Featuring several examples of Nike’s revisionist technological approach to club production - this putter is designed to provide the extreme accuracy and consistency required by the pros.
The club-head itself is made from a couple of different materials, the purpose of which is to absolutely optimise it’s efficiency in play, making sure the different parts of the club are perfectly weighted and surfaced for their seperate purposes.
Due to stability improving technology, the rotation of the clubface is reduced to a minimum during the putting backswing. The other advantage of the inclusion of the polymer layer is to ensure that there is minimal vibration and line-deviance on impact. The combination of the separate parts give a really controlled, sweet sounding and perfectly balanced putt – we believe that anyone’s short game could improve significantly if they took the time to get used to this brilliant club.
The Method putter is equipped with the famous Method Putter Grip developed by Gold Pride. The quality of this feature is unmistakeable. You get a feel like no other from this product. There are several models of the Method putter available, which means you can find one that is perfectly suited to your style and needs.
We tried out a few of them and found that generally, the quality of the putters was consistently brilliant and the associated features of each different style of putter was easily noticeable. The appearance of the putter is quite conservative, which we here at Leaderboard tend to prefer. Sure have an aggressive and futuristic looking monster driver, but when you’re down to the nitty gritty of sinking awkward putts, better to have something classic, understated and reassuring in view.
As with the majority of Nike putters, the Method putter offers great feel and unquestionable build quality. It’s quite soft, but reassuringly solid thanks to the combination of the polymetal insert and the milled steel. The sweet spot is fairly large and covers the whole zone where the grooves can be found, which makes it easy to putt with an almost telepathic feel for where the ball’s going to end up (compared to my usually slightly inconsistent short game).
We also found the feel of the grip thoroughly excellent as it provides softness and confidence. One of the things we loved about this putter is that it suits any kind of putting manoeuvre. Whether you prefer to putt through the borrow or clip your putts, you can rest assured that the Nike method putter will help you get the ball where it needs to be.
The grooves make a real difference too. Right after the moment of impact, the ball started rolling at a fast pace and literally stuck to the putting surface in a way that would prevent it from sliding off its initial route. Finally, the excellent feedback provided by the putter made it very easy and quick to adapt our putting to make the ball reach the perfect distance. The bin-lid (ie. the circle around the hole that all players typically aim for) was a lot easier to find with the method putter.
The Nike Method putter combines great aesthetics with the latest technology to ensure that you will be making more putts than ever before. I’ve put one on my wish-list and if you’re in the market for a putter, we suggest you do too.
