Miguel Angel Jimenez will be taking the first shot in memory of the late Seve Ballesteros today at the Vivendi Seve Trophy in Paris, the event which the golfing great began 11 years ago.

Great Britain and Ireland may have quite the competitive team lined up for the Vivendi Seve Trophy tournament next week, but the Continental Europe team is also not to be sniffed at, as some of Europe’s finest golfers have come together and will prove more than a worthy challenge.

The certainty of the plagued Irish Open, which lost its title sponsorship in November, is being threatened again following the announcement the prize fund is being halved and some of the world’s top golfers are withdrawing. 

With the golfing world's eyes firmly fixed on the beautiful and historic Augusta National it's time to get ready for the first and most sought after major of the year - the US Masters.
