Golf can be considered the hardest sport in the world in that the gap between the size of the field compared to the goal is unmatched by any sport. The concept of getting a two inch ball into a four inch hole from over a hundred feet away seems impossible if not ridiculous. Prepare to be amazed.
Tom Watson, British Open
This was my most memorable hole in one of the year. Simply because it was 62 year-old legend Tom Watson eagling the 6th hole at Royal St. George's to keep him in the running as others fell apart under the treacherous Open conditions.
Rahil Gangjee, Nationwide Tour's Mylan Classic
Hitting a hole in one is difficult enough but this Indian professional did one better holing a 318 yard ace on a par four from the tee.
Dustin Johnson, British Open
The Open had more than one ace this year as Dustin Johnson holes another beauty at the 16th despite being amid bad weather.
Ricky Fowler, Washington DC
This is remarkable footage of Ricky Fowler pulling of a blind shot from 100 yards out. This hole in one was part of the promotional Urban golf series and sees his ball fly between buildings and over roads straight into the hole. Impressive!
Lee Westwood, Shanghai Masters
This recent hole in one from Lee Westwood just goes to show there is always an element of luck and the rub of the green in every hole in one.
Steve Stricker, Memorial Tournament
This is just the perfect shot on the eighth hole, 188 yards with a six iron. A memorable second career ace for Stricker.
Vijay Singh, US Masters
This is an amazing feat of exhibition golf in the warm up to the masters. Vijay and Tom Watson skipping balls across the pond at the 16th.
Brandt Snedeker, TPC Boston
An impressive 144 yard ace with a nine iron in the second round of the Deutsche Bank Championship.
Martin Kaymer, Hole in one stunt shots
For a bit of fun here is a really funny viral video of the former world no. 1 pulling off some hilarious stunt shots, with a little help from special effects.
Rafa Echenique, BMW International Open
The only thing more impressive than a hole in one is an albatross. Holing a par 5 in two is a rare sight, even more so when you're 243 yards away with a three iron in your hand. This must be the most impressive shot of the year.
